Lviv Euro Drupal Camp 2016: enjoying Lviv, learning Drupal
This autumn has had an awesome start for Drudesk, because our parent company (as well as our best friends) InternetDevels have organized its long-expected Lviv Euro DrupalCamp 2016 in the ancient city of Lviv. We have gladly become its bronze sponsor and attendee.
230 happy participants, and still planning to grow
As usual for Lviv Euro DrupalCamp, there are many drupalers who were really glad to see each other again or to get acquainted. This time, they were 230, coming from various corners of Ukraine, as well as from California, Austria, and Belarus.
This included experienced developers, mentors, core contributors, and active members of the Drupal community, as well as young drupalers wishing to learn more and representatives of other professions like project managers, designers, SEO experts and many others.
The spacious halls of Taurus Hotel held all the guests easily. But the amount of attendees is growing all the time, so the organizers are already planning to hire a bigger place for the next year’s event. We hope we need a stadium some day! ;)
The pre-party: yummy ribs, 160 L of beer, and unlimited fun
The tradition of the Lviv Euro DrupalCamp is to start with a pre-party so everyone can get tuned in to the event. And for tuning in, delicious ribs and beer can’t be beat! There also was a rock band that played famous song covers and a magician who showed fascinating conjuring tricks. The pub was located in a 18 century building, so everyone could feel the spirit of the ancient city of Lviv.
The speeches and workshops: a real “paradise” for the brain
The next day was dedicated to cool speeches. They came in 3 streams, so the choice was sometimes a little difficult. Choosing between something interesting, very interesting and extremely interesting can be a daunting task! Besides the speeches, 3 workshops helped drupalers and other experts get new skills and improve the existing ones. Every aspect of working with Drupal, as well many other development issues or related topics, were discussed.
Relaxing at the conference: massage and table football ;)
When your brain is working hard, sometimes you need to relax. At the conference, there was a very nice novelty. Everyone had a chance to get an awesome rest at the wellness chairs, and get a massage from skilled specialists. And those who preferred games could play foosball and jenga.
Lviv Euro DrupalCamp 2016, at its 5 year anniversary, has been even better than ever! Representatives of Drudesk are looking forward to the next year’s event.
